I have had two meetings, Tuesday and Thursday.
Summary:
I have done the normalisation and I am ready to show my client, I have explained how the normalisation worked and how I got the outcome. I will produce a schematic to show what I have done. I have also looked into the logo for the business cards a bit more, although he may already have a design himself but I will take one to him anyway, in case he prefers my idea.
I am also going to show him the designs of business cards, I will show him whether he wants or more design orientated business card or a simple one.

Progression and timing are key!
So, I know I haven't posted in a while i've left all my notes at home where my internet and computer haven't been my best friends.
I am well underway with the normalisation, I believe I have done the first normalisation, now all I need to do is check it and write an ERD for it, which will allow me to see the relationships.
I haven't spent as much time as I planned on it because of my other assignments and other prior engagements.
I have started work on the business cards, I have got several layouts and designs that I am going to put forward to my client.
It's been a hectic few weeks and I don't believe it's going to get much better!

Normalisation
Met up with the client although I didn't need much information as I was in progress of normalising the data he had given me.
I have completed 1NF of the normalisation, it is taking a little longer than expected because I have tried a couple of ways of normalising the data, I have also been working on the business cards and searching out for ideas on the logo as well as getting ideas from the client.

The meeting had to be on Wednesday because there was prior engagements for the Thursday which means we couldn't meet with the client.
I have finished the research I had set out to complete although I can imagine there will be odd parts I will still have to look up while I am constructing the database, familiarising myself with Access again.

I know it's been a while since I have posted on here but to be honest, my internet connection has not liked me very much at all!
So i'll start back at the 18th of October....
I managed to get more information on the client about what fields he wanted in the reports and what some of these other fields mean. It's going to be a task normalising the data for my client because he's already got an idea of what tables he wants and the information for each one, although i believe the outcome of normalisation will be something different than the client is expecting. I have already made him aware of this matter tho and I will make sure the client has all the relevant data items. I also got my client to sign the proposal to make sure that I was doing everything he requested to the way he wanted it doing.
October 25th
After re-reading through my proposal and going through my information, I started on the research. It's going well, I believe I am on task. Looked over my time plan to notice that the times are a little extreme, split tasks down further, the normalisation task has been split into get data for UNF, then 1NF then 2NF then finally 3NF, then check that there is no repeating or redundant data. Also another task of designing a logo for the business cards, I managed to break them down into draft copy's.
I see the error on my time plan that I did not make it as specific as I could have done, although it is now rectified.

Searching for information
Yesterday I managed to meet up with my client. I managed to ask him a few questions about what he wanted for the database and if there was anything else that he may have wanted.
Edit: My client said he would get in touch and email me with the required information and data fields that I will need to carry make a couple of the tables.

The art of choosing
I have drafted in the requirements from a prospective client.
I have looked over what the client wants me to do for the database. This involves several tables and details of the fields.
Another potential client wanted a website, I have tried to contact her, although one of the emails never got through, and she hasn't got back to me yet from when I sent the last email, I am starting to wonder whether the email actually reached her or not.

The battle of the client's
I have found two possible client's. I have one client that wants me to create a website for their holistics company and one client that wants me to create a database for them. They're fears that the database will not be complex enough, but I will have to find out exactly what both clients need before I decide which one I decide to pursue.
